動物たちが出来上がるまで

 

①    機械に原型と角材をセットし削り出す

上段が回転し原型をなぞり、下段に付いた刃が角材を削り出す

（角材の左右を機械で挟むことを前提に動物の形をイメージした原型をあらかじめ作っておきます。思い通りの形になるよう、何度か試作を重ねたものです）

 

②    手作業で磨く

動物の特徴をとらえてカタチを整えてゆきます。

磨き残しが無いよう確認しながら丁寧に作業をすすめます。

仕上がった時の木目の美しさと透明感はこの作業のおかげとも言えます。

 

③    細部を仕上げる

穴を開ける、彫る、パーツを接着する等、動物のカタチに仕上げます。

 

④    色付け前の下地処理を施す

サンディングシーラーと呼ばれ、木材を補強し塗料との相性をよくするものです。

液にドボンと漬けたり、希釈液をエアブラシで吹くなどします。

表面の毛羽立ちや凹凸も、さらに目の細かいペーパーで磨きます。

 

⑤    エアブラシで色を吹き付ける

木目を生かしながら、時には色を重ねて深みを出します。

マスキングして色を塗り分けたり、手描きの模様をくわえることもあります。

 

⑥    目にも木材をはめ込む、口元やヒゲを描きたす

 

⑦    仕上げのウレタンを吹き付ける

今まで不透明だった色が透明感を持ってきます。木目も透けて見えとても美しくなります。

How the animals are made

③ Finishing the details

The animal's shape is finished by drilling holes, carving, gluing parts, etc.

④ Prepare the surface before painting.

This is called a sanding sealer, and it strengthens the wood and makes it compatible with paint.

You can dip the piece in the liquid or spray a diluted solution with an airbrush.

The surface is polished with fine-grained paper to remove any fuzziness or unevenness.

⑤ Spray the color with an airbrush.

The wood grain is preserved, and sometimes the colors are layered to create depth.

Sometimes masking is used to paint different colors, or hand-drawn patterns are added.

⑥ Insert wood into the eyes, and draw the mouth and whiskers.

⑦ Spray the finishing urethane.

The previously opaque color becomes transparent. The wood grain is visible through the lure, making it very beautiful.
